Karen Herold works at Hoag Memorial Hospital where she runs the Hoag Early Risk Assessment Program (HERA). This program is designed to empower women by making them aware of their breast cancer risk and educating them about clinical and lifestyle recommendations that decrease their risk.
Karen is a nurse practitioner with over 34 years of combined experience in hospital, research, private practice and academic settings. Karen has an extensive history of speaking engagements, published articles, and community education about breast cancer risk reduction. Karen received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, a Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner degree from Harbor-UCLA, and Family Nurse Practitioner and Doctorate degrees from Case Western University. Karen’s passion is educating and empowering women to take charge of their health.
